The shoe industry is struggling to survive.
At a meeting hosted by Berke İçten, President of the TASD (Turkish Shoe Manufacturers' Association), and attended by Sinan Öncel, President of the United Brands Association of Turkey (BMB), it was emphasized that the shoe industry is struggling to survive due to additional taxes exceeding 100% on raw material and semi-finished product imports and unregistered production.
The meeting called for urgent measures to be taken on two issues: shrinking exports, increasing tourist sales, and allowing the sector to breathe.
