Kamsan Machinery, a manufacturer of leather stretching machines, began manufacturing spare parts under the name Kamsan Lathe in 1976 in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, under the initiative of Hüseyin Kamber.
Today, Kamsan Machinery stands out as the only source of leather stretching machines, a staple for both the Turkish shoe industry and international manufacturers. Owner Veli Kamber said, "In the following years, we have expanded our engineering services and expanded our product range in parallel with the sector's development, striving to best meet the needs of the market. Today, nearly 300 shoe manufacturers in Turkey use Kamsan Leather Stretching Machines."
Veli Kamber commented on the Leather Stretching Machine and its features: "In shoe production, the most time-consuming cutting process is the time the cutter spends identifying imperfections in the leather. Before cutting, the leather is stretched in our stretching machine, revealing imperfections that cannot be seen or concealed during processing and marking them with a silver pen. This way, because damaged areas are marked in advance, the cutter frees up the time spent searching for imperfections for cutting, increasing production by approximately 30%. When leather is marked by an in-house operator who is well-versed in leather, faulty cuts made by less skilled cutters are avoided, and cut quality is improved. Because cuts are not made in imperfect areas of the leather, the risk of shoe bursting during assembly is reduced by approximately 90%."
